If it looks deep ,..its because it is . 4 3/4 " at the tail . This guitar has everything a serious players heart would desire .
This is the deepest guitar I have ever built and I will be doing more .

Sorry for the jumbo picks ,.....I can build guitars ,..but Im lucky to even log in on a computer.

WOO-HOO ! ! ! ! ! !

That's gorgeous !

Beautiful workmanship...great wood. It all came together in this one didn't it?
The one regret I have about my first (and only) reso is that I didn't make it deeper.

Fantastic reso...

     Hesh

This wood came from a private source on the Island . I am a true lover of Koa ,. It is my favorite wood to build squarenecks with.

Koa makes a killer square neck ,..best tonal qualities that Ive found ,..with Big leaf Maple a close second.

That's really sweet JD!

I built a very deep baritone resonator (National-style)
and the depth sure seems to add a lot of extra reverb and
fullness to the tone, is that what you found?

Also is it traditional or baffle/post constructio

It does add a ton of depth ,...these lrg bodies really shine when you drop tune to D ,.....And yes post and baffle .
I had three prospective buyers play this guitar,...all three ordered on the spot . A walnut and two koas .

If you buildem they will come ,....that is if they sound like the cannons on a pirate ship !
